“You can’t connect the dots looking forward, you
just need to trust that they will somehow connect.” – Steve Jobs
After hitting rock bottom in 2011 I felt lost. I was searching for something, though I had no idea what it was. It was then that a friend invited me to Opening the Kimono, an invite-only event hosted by Tim Ferriss with a price tag of $10k USD. By all accounts I had absolutely no reason to attend an event on publishing when, at the time, I wasn’t an author. But that event changed my life and today I can track a direct return on that investment of at least $145k.
The biggest mistake we can make is to dismiss the opportunity to invest in business relationships. Unfortunately, many people do just that because the ROI on investing relationships isn’t something we can clearly map out in advance. Sometimes you need to drown out the noise and take what feels like a leap of faith when it comes to relationships.
My advice? Forget real estate, stocks, and cryptocurrencies. Relationships are the ultimate asset…
